BARRS Court Primary School has maintained its Good rating with education watchdog Ofsted.

Inspector Steve Smith visited the school near Longwell Green in October and found it provides a good quality of education for its pupils with a strong leadership team at the helm.

According to Mr Smith, pupils enjoy going to school and are keen to participate because they are "energised" by staff.

"Their behaviour is good and they respond well to the good quality of teaching they receive," he said in his report.

The report also stated: "Pupils across the school have good attitudes to learning. They feel confident to share their opinions and make mistakes because they know they are wellsupported by staff."

Mr Smith has asked leaders to ensure that staff continue to challenge the most able pupils so they can make full progress.

In a newsletter to parents headteacher Jess Caunter said: "It is great to know that our hard work is appreciated."
