Burglars strike at Lidl supermarkets

POLICE have released CCTV images following two burglaries at Lidl stores in Hanham and Lawrence Hill.

POLICE have released CCTV images following two burglaries at Lidl stores in Hanham and Lawrence Hill.

The stores in Hanham High Street and Church Road, Lawrence Hill were targeted in the early hours of Tuesday December 6, with offenders stealing a large quantity of cash.

CCTV footage from the Lawrence Hill store has been released showing three men inside the store.

One of the suspects is of proportionate build and wearing a grey hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms, black trainers with white soles, and light coloured gloves.

The second is also of proportionate build and was wearing a black hooded top with a white stripe down the sides, dark grey tracksuit trousers and black footwear.

The third is muscular and was wearing a black hooded top, black trousers and black footwear.

All three men wore balaclavas and one was carrying a black Nike holdall with a long strap  and white detailing.

Police say the offenders may have been in the area of the stores around the same times on the nights leading up to the burglaries.

If you saw any suspicious people or vehicles around the Lawrence Hill store between 11pm on Monday December 5 and 2am the following morning, or around the Hanham store between 2am and 4am on Tuesday December 6, call PC Tom Boodeny on 101, giving the call handler the reference number 5216270261.
