A BROWNIE pack in Hanham has put out an SOS for more help after two leaders stepped down.

The 38th Kingswood (Christchurch Hanham) Brownie unit provides activities and trips for girls aged seven to 11.

It is run by Jean Tovey with support from Sally Smith.

Jean said: "We have 26 Brownies. We're just managing with a unit helper and me. We do have a young leader but she doesn't start her training until September. The two leaders who have left have been doing it for years but have stepped down because of family commitments so we really could do with a couple more qualified leaders or people who would be willing to undergo training."

The Brownies meet on Monday evenings at Christchurch Church Hall in Church Road, Hanham, from 6.30-8pm.

They take part in craft activities, work towards badges and go on trips and visits.

Jean, who lives in Willsbridge and has been a Brownie Guide leader at the 38th Kingswood (Christchurch Hanham) Brownie unit for 25 years, said the group would really benefit from young and dynamic leadership.

"We would love a qualified leader but even someone who is willing to train would be great.

"If no one comes forward Sally and I will try to keep things going for the moment but it might mean things are a bit limited. "
