Classic! Mutts, motors, dancing and all the fun of the fayre
THE sun was shining when the community turned out in force to support the area's annual Hanham Common Fayre.
The common, in Memorial Road, was transformed into a hive of activity as all members of the family enjoyed the fun.
Among the attractions were dance shows performed by 3D Dance, Punch and Judy shows, bouncy castle and inflatable slide, circus skills workshops, hog roast and car boot sale.
There were also a variety of stalls, some representing charities or organisations in the area including Friends of Hanham Woods Academy, The Y's Men's Club of Hanham, Hanham Abbots Parish Council, Hanham District Greenbelt Conservation Society and Hanham Toddlers and Christ Church pre-schools.
Proving ever popular was the classic car show and fun dog show, which attracted the neighbourhood's finest pooches.
Steve Hicks, chairman of Hanham Abbots Parish Council which organises the fayre, said: "It was another major success. It was even better than last year's fayre which we considered the best one.
"The fayre is becoming more and more popular and the events we are putting on are really attractive. The circus skills in the main arena is a big draw and keeps the kids busy all day. The dog show is always really popular too. The charity stalls did really well and their takings were up.
"It took a lot of organising but it was a really good day."
