Dance group marks birthday by bringing home trophies
A POPULAR dance school in Hanham is celebrating 12 years of putting a spring in the step of hundreds of local children.
3D Dance was originally formed in 2006 by Hanham dance teacher Louise Hopton and now involves more than 150 children.
They marked their birthday by celebrating success at street dance championships in Cheltenham last weekend.
After working on competition routines for several months, all 3D teams bought home medals and trophies including a first place for '3D Energise' who won the 12 and under category and others, beating as many as seven other teams to win the titles.
Weekly street dance classes are held in both Hanham and Emersons Green and pupils have participated in hundreds of shows, competitions and performances over the years.
Girls and boys aged between four and 16 learn street dance routines in fun, energetic classes and have recently had success at several national competitions around the country. Recent performances include spots at local festivals, fayres, including Hanham Common Fayre, and the Colston Hall.
3D Dance, which has even started some adult classes for parents, also hosts dance workshops and school holiday clubs and are looking forward to holding some this summer.
