Fun and fundraising go hand in hand
PARENTS and children in Hanham have been enjoying the Christmas season at a fundraising fair.
Full of festive spirit, families flocked to Samuel White's infants and Hanham Abbots juniors in Creswicke Avenue for a joint Christmas event, organised by the two Friends groups.
At the infant school children took part in tombola and bottle stalls, lucky dips, hook a bauble games and had their face-painted and arms tattooed with glitter. There was also book and sweet stalls, a craft room and grand raffle with top prizes up for grabs.
Getting the most votes for top attraction of the day was Santa in his magical grotto.
The junior school was also a hive of activity, hosting a cafe, a school uniform shop and a guess the name of the bear competition.
Sally Britton, chair of the junior school Friends, and Bryony Davis, chair of the infants', said the fair raised an impressive £1,850: "It was lovely for the community to come together as well as for both schools to work together to put the fair on.
"Many thanks to all the volunteers and to everyone braving the elements to support Hanham Primary Federation."
