KIND-HEARTED people have rallied round to provide cash, toys, furniture and household goods for the family after the fire tore through their Warmley house two weeks before Christmas.

Dad Martin Doherty, his partner Tanya Cornford and children Skye, 16, Paige, 12 and four-year-old Lily Rose,  were left with nothing following the blaze, which  destroyed every room apart from the kitchen.

A fellow parent from Lily-Rose's school set up online fundraising pages, including a public Facebook page -  Warmley family house fire please support  -  and organised an "as new" sale. A Justgiving page has also been set up and has raised £1,000 and a Gofundme site has collected around £100.

The family have been given temporary accommodation. Writing on the Facebook page, Tanya said she was hugely relieved that they had all got out of the blazing house unharmed

"Thanks again to everyone who's helping right now. We really appreciate it! Massively! On a high note we are in temp accommodation, we won't be homeless for Christmas! This is a huge relief that we can all be together."
