Good Afternoon Choir expands
A NEW choir will be tuning up at Nailsea Methodist Church on Wednesday September 5.
The North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir is open to everyone with no auditions and a repertoire of music to suit everyone. Grenville Jones is widely respected as a choir leader across the UK. He has appeared on radio and television across the world with his many choirs and he runs a number of Good Afternoon Choirs which include Bristol, Thornbury and Keynsham.
He says: “A number of people in and around Nailsea have approached us to ask if we can start a choir for them and I am delighted that Ben England who leads the hugely popular Bristol and Thornbury groups will be conducting our new North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir.”
With over 1,000 singers the choirs have raised many hundreds of pounds for charities in their individual areas and the North Somerset GAC will rehearse from 1-3pm on Wednesday afternoons. There is a membership fee to sing in the choir but everyone is invited to attend the first open rehearsal free of charge to “discover” more about the choir, meet Ben England its conductor and find out more about how the North Somerset GAC will grow in the months ahead.
Final word goes to Ben England who also leads the Nailsea Concert Orchestra.
“This is a new choir for everyone and if you have always wondered what it is like to sing in a choir, then please, please come along on Wednesday September 5 to find out more and bring a friend.”
