hanham local history
THE STORY of Hanham from Roman times to the present will be the next in the 2019 season of talks at Kingswood Heritage Museum.
The extensively illustrated talk will be presented by Roger Windsor and Roy Crew, who are leading members of Hanham Local History Society.
They will include tales of the area's residents, and cover the rise and fall of local businesses, as well as the history of what Roger calls “the jewel in the crown” - Hanham Court. The photograph here of the Court is taken from a 1920 sales brochure.
The talk takes place at the museum on Monday September 9 at 7.30pm.
An entry fee of £3 will include refreshments. To ensure a seat it is advisable to book in advance. For more information contact the museum, telephone 0117 960 5664, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The museum is located in the former Champion Brass Works at Tower Lane, Warmley, Bristol BS30 8XT, just off Avon Ring Road (Cadbury Heath exit). Buses 19, 19A, 42 and 43 stop nearby.
