Hanham's Cinderella seeks fairy godmother
IF you’re a dab hand with a paintbrush or handy with a toolkit, Hanham Players are hunting for you.
The theatre company is looking for new members to form part of its stage crew for its upcoming pantomime, Cinderella.
No experience is needed to join in building, painting and decorating the stage sets for the winter show.
A spokesperson said: “We supply all the tools. All you need is a ‘can do’ attitude and a desire to create something from nothing. Come and join our happy group and feel a part of something very special, working to entertain the local community.”
A panto wasn’t possible last year because of Covid restrictions, so the last time the group staged a pantomime was in January 2020, when they performed Jack and the Beanstalk just before the pandemic hit.
Other planned productions for that year had to be cancelled.
The group rehearses and performs at Hanham Community Centre, where it meets on Wednesdays from 7.30-10pm, plus an additional rehearsal for the cast from 8-10pm on Fridays. To comply with Covid restrictions, early stages of planning for this production had to be held on the field behind the centre. There is also a youth section for ages 11 to 16, meeting on Friday evenings.
Cinderella will be directed by Jessica Lawrence and Louise Parfrey, with the title role played by Rubi Barber. It runs from January 5-9. To get involved email email@example.com
