ARE there any litter-strewn eyesores in Hanham and Longwell Green you would like to see cleaned up?

Members of the South Gloucestershire Green Party are looking for sites to carry out litter picks to ensure the area is a better place to live and work.

They recently ran their first 'Green Streets' community litter pick in Hanham Road, which is looking much tidier for it.

Spokesman Dan Johnston said: "Despite the damp weather we managed to pick up several bags each of waste and recycling to make the road look nice and clean.

"We got a great response from people out on the street and we want to continue to host monthly litter picks in the Hanham, Longwell Green and Kingswood areas."

The next litter pick takes place on Sunday October 23 from 10am-12noon, meeting outside the Bourne Christian Centre on Waters Road, Kingswood.

People are welcome to pop along to give the team a hand. Picking equipment and refreshments will be provided.

* Tell Hanham and Longwell Green Voice about the places you feel let the district down. Email news@hanhamandlongwellgreenvoice.co.uk and we will pass any litter pick requests to the South Gloucestershire Green Party.
