Kai leads his team to victory

KING'S Oak student Kai Stenner took his team to victory after he had the honour to captain Swinton Town Academy FC in a tournament in Canada.

KING'S Oak student Kai Stenner took his team to victory after he had the honour to captain Swinton Town Academy FC in a tournament in Canada.

The under 13s tournament in Calgary included teams entered from various parts of the country and was made up of two groups of four teams with the top two teams competing in the final. 

Kai, a Year 8 student, was appointed captain for the whole tournament and final, which they won, beating Bonivital FC 2-0.

Kai said: “This means a lot to me not only to be picked for the team but to be selected as captain, which means they think of me as a leader. I really enjoyed my stay in Canada. To win makes me really proud."
