LIFE begins at retirement if the exploits of Longwell Green Probus Club are anything to go by.

Members of the club for retired gentleman are packing in more trips than the Rooneys - and who can blame them?

Having spent a long weekend in Paignton during January, members of the club took a week's holiday in Falmouth in April.

Within 10 days, they were off to Amsterdam where they took in the bulb fields and general sights. After another break in Torquay in May, members took a breather before their next holiday in Llandudno, Wales.

The busy bees are now looking forward to a 'Tinsel and Turkey' break in November.

Eric Smith, the club's tireless organiser, is already looking ahead to 2017 with trips to Paignton, Manchester, the Isle of Man and Penzance already under consideration as well as another potential trip abroad.

The club, for retired and semi-retired men, is always looking for new members and holds regular meetings, lunches, skittles, bowls, quiz nights and much more. Wives and partners are included on holidays and events. To find out more please give club secretary Brian Deeley a call on 0117 960 4124.
