Thumbs up for new play equipment
CHILDREN at Hanham Toddlers Pre-school have given the thumbs up to new play equipment recently installed in their garden.
The 'pole jungle' has proved a huge hit with the two, three and four year-olds and is helping boys and girls make the most out of their time outdoors.
The elaborate climbing frame, in a shaded part of the outdoor space, follows more than eight months of fundraising, which was organised by staff and the pre-school's committee.
Events included a sponsored obstacle course, a Christmas raffle and discos. It was boosted by a generous donation of £2,500 from Hanham Methodist Church in Chapel Road, where the pre-school is based.
Manager Lorraine Bunting said: “It's a fantastic piece of equipment.
“The children love it and ask to go outside all the time. The pole jungle completes our outdoor provision where we offer sand, water, mud and woodwork.
"Now we have physical equipment so we can cover all areas of the curriculum.
“I'd like to add thanks to the church for their donation and to all parents and carers who have supported our fundraising activities to enable us to purchase the pole jungle.”
