The stolen Mercedes car has been recovered after being found crashed and abandoned by patrolling officers at about 4am on Wednesday December 13 in Acacia Avenue, Staple Hill.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Darren Warr said: "I’d urge people to make sure their home is secure at night and when they go out. Some types of doors may seem locked when you lift the handle, but can still be opened by a burglar if you haven’t turned the key.

" It’s important to take the keys out of the lock, and keep them safely out of sight."
